So much ignorance here. Read up on stack-smashing attacks. That is an open-source vulnerability. I do not get where you read about open-source being more secure. Aviation, medical, AAA games, military software are all proprietary. The only open source projects that work are the ones backed by big companies like react. I am not against well funded and well put-together open-source projects. This article talks about the 99% of github projects which are straight up garbage built by under-fed, and under skilled "programmers".
