I disagree with you that the logic required to solve programming problems is math-based. Critical thinking and puzzle solving can be found in art fields such as law, criminal justice, literature, fine-art, linguistics, etc. That is why most people who are developers today do not even have a computer science degrees. they have degrees in english, media, business, etc. They could not solve a quadratic equation to save their lives but they do just fine. As long as you remain in the web dev and mobile dev space, you will be fine without knowing math.
