First of all, open source is a software development model. You can refer to the toxic star-chasing online bro culture as a culture.

You agree that the very core of the open-source model is that protection of intellectual property is completely disregarded. The original author can lose if proper credit is not given on a project that has been worked on for a long time. Haven't you seen open source devs fight over credit for a project?

OS community does not owe anyone anything, however needlessly making fun of people and trying to bring them down reflects poorly on the class of people such "culture" attracts.

"Want to earn money? get a job" Like bro. You are literally echoing what I am saying. I am encouraging people to get an actual job that can pay the bills and stop star-chasing on github for no money.

"Who do you hold responsible". Again you just agreed to what I said. You cannot hold anyone responsible for it, hence do not use it for serious work or research.

"Ignore them, what's the problem". That is exactly what i suggested. I was just highlighting that these bed-bugs exist.

As for quality on the long run, I strongly disagree. Max, maya, FlStudio , MSOffice, imovie, Ableton, Unreal engine etc have all outlived their open-source counterparts and thats due to funding. People grow-up and get a job or focus on profitable side hustles to pay the bills, that's why lots of open source end up as abandonware.
